Vive Audio Input / Microphone
Does the Vive have a built in microphone? It appears to have audio input of some kind, I think it's through the headphone jack on the headset. But what kind of headphone would I need that can do audio input and output through the same connector?

A USB microphone should work on the developer edition. Current plan is to have a built in mic on the final version.

If you're lucky you can plug a cellphone style headset (three contact stereo plug) into the headphone port and get the mic working too. I've had pretty sporadic luck with this though.

I can confirm that a headphone with three contact plug works. But the two headphone I tried had a loud hum in the recording
I've bought a few different mics to try for this, but Its very difficult to get one that is cheap, reaches from the usb port to your mouth, and isn't going to get smacked around as you gesture wildly... Does anyone have any specific microphones that they would suggest?

We're using a wireless one that I like. Plantronics Gamecom 818h. It's got a mic you can bend a bit, reasonable battery life, fine sound, and easy to put on / take off. Can also plug in via usb to the headset if you forget to charge it.
Sweet! I'll check it out. Thanks a million zite!!
