Unity SteamVR plugin v1.2.3
The SteamVR plugin for Unity has been updated on the Unity Asset Store.

Github has been updated with the latest changes as well: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steamvr_unity_plugin

You can use GitHub to post bugs and fixes.

If you have problems downloading the latest version, sometimes you need to click on the little "inbox" icon in the upper left of the Asset Store window to go to the list of plugins you've previously downloaded, and update the plugin from there before importing it into your project(s).

Release notes:
  • Updated to SteamVR runtime v1515522829 and SDK version 1.0.12.
  • Updated quickstart guide.
  • General - Fixed deprecation warnings for GUILayer in Unity version 2017.2 and newer (removed associated functionality).
  • LoadLevel - Fixed a crash when using SteamVR_LoadLevel to load a scene which has no cameras in it.
  • RenderModels - Switched from using TextureFormat.ARGB32 to RGBA32 to fix pink texture issue on Vulkan.
  • RenderModels - Fix for not initializing propery if game is paused on startup.
  • InteractionSystem - Added implemention for ItemPackageSpawner requireTriggerPressToReturn.

Is there going to be support for ".NET 4.x Equivalent" ? Currently it breaks the controller rendering. Removing the model details (vive logo, button textures etc)

I posted a bug report and workaround for this in the OpenVR GitHub. I’m on mobile right now so I can’t look it up and post the link - but it’s just a type being used that behaves differently on .NET 4.x, resulting in the textures appearing all black (so using “black” and/or “textures” and/or “RenderModels” in the issue search should give you that issue). I’ll post a link when back on a real computer ;-)

Im still using this older version to do the complexity of the new Steam VR input system.

Im having issues lately with the NoSteamVRFallBack objects camera not working anymore inside the Unity Editor. It is working when I do builds so something is strange with the editor. Ive tested multiple projects and get the same issue. Im using Unity 2018.2.14f1 btw.

Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can test my project without having to make and run the build everytime?

This is a deprecated version of the plugin, we recommend using SteamVR Unity Plugin Version 2.2. And discussion on this topic is being moved to the SteamVR Developer Forums here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/7/
