Terminal Velocity: Legacy

Terminal Velocity: Legacy

How about an actual enhanced port?
Cause I got a sweet new joystick coming in the mail this week and I'd love to replay Terminal Velocity and its offspring in glorious 1080p with better textures.

Aside from creating new textures it shouldn't be that difficult, no more of this dosbox stuff.

3D Realms apparently has the source code to it and someone is working on a source port for the game. Aside from that I somewhat doubt a big port fix will happen before the source port is released.

There is an enhanced mod of Fury 3 that incorporates this game into it but you don't get 1080p and textures with that.

Yeah I have that on my retro pc (233mhz) which runs Dos and Win95, its a pretty neat mod.

That's why I would love to have something like that but for newer computers, would be so sweet to have enhanced ports of all three games.

Source port seems to be abandoned, no news since 2016. :/

There is also remake "Terminal Recall", made in Java, no previous code used. Here:
https://github.com/jtrfp/terminal-recall
In this thread you may find ready-to-tun compiled version of it:
https://forums.duke4.net/topic/5787-terminal-velocity/page__st__480
There you may see and read also my comments about it, hints, screenshots (I am Juris3D there too).
And, of course, I myself learn UE4 and someday I will definitely release something sci-fi aerial. Here some of my learning process ;-) link:

Just bought TV only to find it is a DOSBox application. I lready have DOSBox installed and the original CD for TV. How to rip yourself off....

I'm not sure if at this point that source port is still being worked on.

That fiddling around original source has been stalled for a long time. Java engine remake is still ongoing, i think, i did check some month or two ago

someone with the source code is working on a port: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=45103

last update by StrikerMan780, 2019: "it won't be commercial. It'll be a free port, you'll need to provide your own POD files."
Vamp Feb 26, 2019 @ 6:32am
Aah he's still working on it, that's good news!

That's good news! I better jump back to that forum :)

Being able to play the game on a standard 360 pad with all its buttons would be nice. Personally, i think that's all a modern port needs

Unfortunately, Star Wars Kinect killed Terminal Realities.
I just googled Terminal Velocity and found Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition TBA on Steam, so a widescreen version with achievements.

I am hoping it comes out in the next year, the gamepad support for the OG game doesn't seem to work despite what everyone says.

No matter what calibration I do in-game on Dosbox my ship just flies in circles, which sucks because it would be totally playable otherwise.
