HOW TO: Enable Mouse or Joystick Support

If you have an older 32-bit OS installed just run setup.exe, for those of us that don't here is how it's done.

There are two simple ways to do this, you can edit the setup.ini file directly. Or change the DOSBox configuration to run the setup when it starts. The files are located here:

C:\<Your Steam Directory>\steamapps\common\Raptor Call of the Shadows\Raptor - Call of the Shadows

OPTION 1:

Open setup.ini in notepad can change the Control line.

Changing
Control=0 - Keyboard Control
Control=1 - Mouse Control
Control=2 - Joystick Control

Save it and play the game.

OPTION 2:

Open RAPTOR.CONF, at the bottom add setup.exe before RAP.exe. This will force the game setup to run every time you play. It will look like the following:

@echo off
Mount C ".."
C:
cls
SETUP.exe
RAP.exe
:exit
exit

Enjoy!

Control=0 works perfectly with my Wireless Xbox 360 Controller.
Control=2 makes the mouse bug out and keep moving to the top-left.

On Windows XP SP3, I just looked for the SETUP.EXE in local files and double-clicked it.

It opened in a MS-DOS window, I was able to select mouse control, and then save and exit.

It saved my settings properly, and mouse control worked fine with Raptor after that. :teddy:

(You'll have to do this again if you ever Verify Files, because the configuration file gets replaced.)

This solution is for Win Vista/7/8/10 x64, those versions of windows do not support 16-bit DOS applications. If you'll note the very first line of my post states to use SETUP.EXE if you run a x32 OS. Nice to see a few others still playing this old game. :)

Oops, sorry I posted without reading the whole post. Anyway, thanks for the guide, as I will probably need it when I upgrade. Raptor is still a great game after all these years. :steamhappy:
