Weapon question
Does weapon power stack wit the amount of units owned?

I mean, for example, if I have 2 units of air-to-air missiles, will they be more powerful or fire faster than if I had just one?

I have no idea. I have played it for years and still don't know. I usually just have 1 unit of a weapon.
no it doesnt. if you want more firepower get a different weapon
As long as you equip weapons with "always equipped" on it you can add their firepower to your selectable weapons.

I don't understand what you are trying to say here...

WIll having more of the "always equiped" weapons be more powerful than just having one at the time?
Or are you telling me that the selectable weapons will be more powerful if I buy more of the "always equiped" weapons?

I honestly thought that every weapon had fixed firepower that doesn't affest others...

Every weapon has fixed firepower, we're talking about being able to fire more than one.

There are two types of weapons in the game: Always Equipped, and Selectable. The weapon shop description tells you which type each weapon is.

The advantage of the Always Equipped weapons is that they can always be fired together with your current Selectable weapon, as explained below:

- The machineguns you start with, the plasma cannon, and the micro-missiles are Always Equipped. When you hold the fire button, all of the Always Equipped weapons you have installed fire together, along with one of your Selectable weapons if you have any.
- All other weapons in the game are Selectable. You can have many Selectable weapons installed, and switch between Selectable weapons in combat, but can only fire one of them at a time. The current Selectable weapon is indicated by an icon in the corner of the screen.

The little bit of extra damage the Always Equipped stuff does can make a big difference in survival, especially in the early game when your best Selectable weapons are relatively weak.
the inky way to get more damage out of selectible weapons is to constantly switch between 2-3 weapons...

this gets very annoying and sometimes screws you over though...

Constant switching doesn't give you more firepower, rather it reduces your firepower...

If you really need to minmax your kill speed, then ALL selectable projectile weapons are a loss of damage. This is simply due to the fact that any projectile takes a while before it flies from your position to the target. You can't stick to the top of your screen to limit flight distance either, because you would crash into stuff and die.

So in that regard, Twin Laser, Deathray and Laser Turret are superior than other weapons, since you can stay safe at the bottom, but hit an enemy coming to the screen instantly. From these, Twin Laser is obviously the strongest option.
constant switiching does increase firepower if you only switch between 2-3 weapons.

because you can shoot the other weapon while the first is on cooldown.

the best combination for instance is twin-laser + death ray. constantly switichng between the two bascially makes you fire both at the same time
twin lasers covers the area in from of your ship already. But I do switch with the laser turret to get even bypassing ships.
