Been playing solid for the last few days and am up to EP6. Loving the game but have noticed it gets very stiff and choppy when turning, especially circle strafing. Is this just a limitation with the engine? Circle strafing wasn't possible in the original so I'm wondering if it has problems dealing with it. It probably doesn't help that I'm constantly turning and strafing (with a twin stick controller, mapped to the keyboard). Backwards and forwards movement and standard left and right strafe are smooth by comparison with no hitches. For the record I'm new to the game, I only played the DOSbox version for about half an hour and struggled with the controls, hence switching to this port.

Seems it'a bug in the port. I'll try to fix it.
Awesome dude :) absolutely legendary.
Cheers.

Hi

Good Work so far :D

But no Real WideScreen or UltraWide , is like 4:3

You plan in Future real 16:9 and 21:9 ?

Or a option for Change the FOV , the Screen is filled too with 2560x1080 , so can work a Fov Option .

Some ECWolf DevBuilds supports 16:9 and 21:9 !

How to compile with CMake 32 bit gui / windows? Where are the binary downloads (already packaged installers) for windows 32 bit and 64 bit?

*Edit: nevermind. Just found it. It's under the releases tab on the github pages. Both the 32 and 64 bit versions:

Thanks Bibendovsky

Does the 32 bit version work on windows xp? I can run the source port easily on more modern windows OS. But am curious about using on an older system. What opengl is supported? Is opengl 2.0 supported? Or needs to be higher version of opengl?

Also your readme file mentions a command line to change the video renderer. How do you access the command line? In game? If so, what keys are pressed to bring up the command line. The conventional ~ doesn't work.

1) [OS] All windows releases build for Windows XP as minimum required operating system.

2) [Cmd-Line] There is no in-game command line (or console). You have to pass parameters for executable file (i.e. "bstone.exe --version"). Use, for example, "cmd.exe" or create a shortcut and append required options to it's settings.

3) [Renderer] The port uses SDL's 2D video renderer (https://wiki.libsdl.org/CategoryRender). There is no real 3D rendering. Usually you don't have to change the renderer at all.

Big THANKS for the source port! I don't even mind the pixely visuals of the DOSBox (original) version, but the lack of proper controls is usually a dealbraker for me. With BStone, I seriously got hooked, the game itself is darn enjoyable. All hail BStone!

How do i install it? i have the files.
ReBoot Apr 17, 2019 @ 11:27pm
I personally have but BStone into the folder where DOSBox is, renamed BStone's executable to dosbox.exe and have moved the game files to the same folder. Result: seamless start of the game.

And all you had to do in trade was put up with a ton of bugs and inconsistencies. Good stuff.

0 bugs, 0 inconsistencies encountered while playing. I litereally don't know what you're talking about.

What? What bugs are you talking about? And do you even know what 'inconsistency' means?

You need to list some of these bugs for us so we know what you're talking about.
