Yep, for all we know this game will never continue unless SWERY gets back in business again. Nonetheless, a void that'll stay dim for as much as we can only hope to for the time it does get an ending.

D4 did get a SHOUT-OUT, though. In Deadly Premonition 2, agent Zach Morgan references David Young as being the noisy neighbor upstairs. You have to be pretty perceptive to get the reference, though, the biggest clue being that their apartments have the same basic layout. Zach basically comments on the development of D4 ending - it's pretty funny.

Well, it' the least we'd have to appreciate the game. I have Deadly Premonition 2 but stopped playing in a few hours as I got bored easily and my laptop isn't in to proper specs. Maybe I'll download and finish the game to see what you mean lol, for the mean time I'm busy with other things like the pandemic.

But honestly, I really miss D4 and I wish SWERY should come back if he really wants to get the game done for good like how Samurai Jack got its final episodes just for closure sakes.

I think that for the comment to trigger, you have to be inspecting the ceiling fan about half-way into the game's interrogation scenes. You'll then hear a familiar gunshot from upstairs, before they start talking about who lives upstairs.
