He is only retired for now due to his health.

He'll return once he is alright. But I'm not sure he'll be able to work on D4 again.

Its very sad to hear that they wont be continuing this game. Ive looked at some gameplay and story and i think i will love this game since im really into this timetraveling stuff. I will probably buy this game anyway even though its dead in hope that its popular enoough for them to be greedy and continue it somehow.

So season 2 is officially cancelled, but the steam store page still hasn't been updated? Time to report it to get it altered. No need to buy a game that'll never get finished.

It doesn't say it's cancelled though. But yeah, we probably won't see it anytime soon.

To clarify, SWERY "retired" a.k.a. resigned from Access Games not primary because of his health as he is already well and recovering but due to the fact he is interesting to pursue his own ventures into other projects and taking an indefinite break from video game development . He mentioned a few times he have written a book, something about "Deadly Premonition set in Britain" and he hopes it will get adapted into a form of media.

Also D4 didn't sold well at all, in fact well below the publisher expectation and Microsoft who originally published the game on the Xbone was extremely displeased with the sales figure. So there is very much zero chance there will even be a season two all things considered.
