Are the Achievements really working?

I'm really sorry for asking this but the percentage in the global achievements are kinda.. sketchy. I want to know first if the achievements are really working. I haven't gotten a thousand kills yet or 250 deaths, so it would really be a big help to know first hand. Sorry and thank you in advance!

I just reached over 1000 kills and did not receive the corresponding achievement. For now, it appears they are still not working entirely right.

it has a nice concept just wish it was a lil more refined...and maybe at some point able to custimize your sprite
