HTC Vive

HTC Vive

Is the original Vive still good in 2021?
I found a bargain for an original HTC Vive (€400), which is way cheaper than the Index, but I don't know if it's worth the tradeoffs - specifically the screen.

Can anyone with a Vive help me decide if it's still a viable headset in 2021 or if I should pony up more for the Index?

It's a good starter set. It will leave you begging for knuckle controllers. I have the index and vive with wireless. I like both. The Index has way better user experience.

My Vive Pro wireless is close to my Quest 2. I still prefer the Vive because the confort and because I got the Index controllers. The original Vive is far away in resolution and the controllers are heavy. If you have the PC, wifi 5 dedicated and Steam, just get the Quest 2 and go wireless with all the res and nice controllers too. Just my opinion.

Yes its amazing I got three in the last year due to some deals. Legit someone gave one up for 100$ CDN. Check all local selling sites and groups. Or buy it in parts. Wireless is the best but the most expensive part to get.
