NVIDIA GTX 770M
My laptop is below the recomended specification, in that it has a GTX 770M with an Intel i7-4800MQ, will I be able to use the Vive, posibly at a lower resolution or is it an absolute no no.

Regards

try installing and running the steamvr performance test. also download msi afterburner. with my slightly sub par gtx970m i can get a vr capable 1.4 rating without overclocking, 2.9 with overclocking. i just downloaded a legend of luca, that game is less than 200 mb download, i bet itll work just fine but i gotta wait 4 my vive 2 ship 2 c 4 sure.
Well, what happens if you'd try it anyway? Would it outright refuse to run?

A mobile chip is, in general, pretty low tech, though.

But with these indy games, I can't imagine that you'd need a 970GTX or AMD equivalent to run, let's say, Legend of Dungeon in VR.

It will run, but the low frame rate will make you sick (and for some people it lasts for hours)

Sure, but doesn't it depend highly on the game? As I said, I can't imagine running Legend of Dungeon for example in VR being so hard on max framerates.

So it *does* block anything lower? Wow. Or do these graphic cards have dedicated hardware on board? What on the graphic card makes it being compatible at all with VR? It doesn't sound like it would be the raw processing power.

Display
2160 x 1200 resolution (1080 x 1200 per eye), low persistence, global illumination, AMOLED, 90 Hz displays you can't do that on a gtx 770m that's why you need a gtx 970 or higher

i think the oculus limits u 2 certain video cards, at least their test does. i failed oculus test cuz my gpu is 970m rather than 970, but i get actual benchmark test from vive which gets better results with oc.

Make a gaming PC it will be cheaper than buying a new laptop

Don't buy a laptop unless it has a GTX 980 (to the M version). It is the only mobile gpu supported atm.

Your CPU is also below specs most likely. I have a 6 core processor (4.2 GHz) and it is too low, as well as my 660ti with 2Gig is too low end to use as well. If you get this headset, you will need a whole new computer.
