It´s 1994 all over again, dude!!
F#CK YEAH!!!
1,000 well spent!
Allow me to let you in on a little secret OP. There are hardly any Vive games right now, because almost nobody currently has had a Vive long enough to develop on! Shocking, right? Don't tell anyone else about this incredibly complex and hard-to-understand information - it may have a drastic effect on the weak-minded. I hope you'll be ok.
Stupid stupid HTC, that´s what you get for beeing inexperienced and little company.
Dude seriously. Of course HTC handed out dev kits to everybody who WANTED them.
And look who wanted them. NO AAA publisher.
EDIT: Calling me troll just because I disagree with your opinion is pretty 12yearoldish...
i bought kinect when it was new 5 years ago, and i still play the l8st dance central game on my xbone just about everyday. without the kinect, my enthusiasm 4 gaming industry wanes. i hope my vive also bolsters my enthusiasm 4 gaming when it arrives.
motion tracking in gaming could b the best its ever been with vive, tho it dont really track ur whole body like the kinect.
LOL, they certainly did not give out dev kits to everyone who wanted one, because everyone wanted one. They only gave out a select few. Even then, they might not even want to develop on the dev kit, instead waiting for the final consumer version - because the consumer version is what everyone is going to be playing their games on.
There are a few AAA titles right now for it. I'd say that's actually pretty good considering the Vive literally just came out. Other AAA devs are going to wait and make sure VR takes off before investing millions into developing a game. Just be patient.

That's a pretty damn good list!
And HTC was like: "NO! NO!!! We only give the dev kits to 20 year old hoppy programmers!
Makes perfect sense.
The thing about this statement is that it does feel like the 90's (or even 80's) all over again. But not for the reasons you might be thinking.
This is the most revolutionary piece of gaming technology to come out in the last 20 years. So we get to experience the growth of the VR medium and witness the creativity of developers as they figure out how to develop for it. We get to potentially see the birth of new gaming genres.
It's awesome.
I never said they asked? Like I said AAA devs are going to wait until they are sure they can profit.
Indie devs are the ones who are going to pave the way for the AAA games. Once the large companies take notice of the level of success the indie devs are having, they'll jump on board.
Don't know why some people we're expecting that. It's too new tech, not going to happen.
