The authorization of this payment has failed
PayPal or credit card, none is working. Because this is the only store where its available anyone has an idea where the problem is?

Which should I contact? Valve or HTC or Digital Rivers?

No I cannot pay with PayPal nor with my credit card. Funny though the first time I preorderd everything was okay. Then I cancelled the preorder legally. Now when I try again I get this message and I'm not sure who I should contact. Valve probably won't answer within 6 months (if they ever do).

Valve is not the retailer...so even if you get a response within 6 months it wouldn't help.
First thing you should do is to contact your bank. Both the authorization done by Digital River or the payment done via Paypal should not have failed unless there is a problem with your account

Maybe cancelling put a flag on the account?
If you have the cash in your bank/CC that Paypal is attached to, it shouldn't be an issue.

It's not the cancelling. I did exactly this. I cancelled my May Pre-Order, which was on VISA and re-ordered with PayPal. The money came out straight away.

I am having the same problem. I tried my Visa card, my Amex card and my Paypal account and I keep getting the payment authorization fail message. I called my visa card and they said nothing is wrong with it. I call HTC and they could not help. I called digital river and they said they no longer give cutomer support for HTC and told me to call HTC directly. I know that my credit cards are good because I am able to order stuff from other websites.

I want to order this thing but I am in virtual limbo. :steamsad:

Anyone have any ideas?

Call back to HTC's support number and be very clear that you are requesting assistance with placing a new order, not dealing with your charge being rejected. Let them know you are having issues with placing an order via the website and need assistance with that.

They will be the only ones that will be able to help you.

I've now added over 1,000 to my PayPal account and still get the same message. Funny though when I contact HTC I only get a "ticket closed" reply and an email that the HTC contact has changed (I've used the contact details on the official HTC support website).

Its a shame I cannot order it via Steam.

Seems like disabling my VPN and making the payment through a virtual machine with a fresh windows installation via the official HTC website (not via steam link) did the trick.

Thanks for the advice PopinFresh... I called HTC and asked for help with a new order. They took my credit card info over the phone and I am now scheduled for a May delivery! :steamhappy:
