Careful of thier customer service.
I pre-ordered a vive, made an HTC account to track what was going on. The first time I tried to use it I got an error that my email is not a recognizable email. Of course I contacted their customer service department. the following are the communications sent and recieved judge for yourself.

My first message told them about my issue with my email not being able to be used.

According with the information your order is go to go and we will ship your device in May, as soon as you receive the email with the tracking number you only need to wait 2 days and after that you will have an excellent device in the front of your door. marcenos@live.com please stop sending the copy and paste emails about shipping my order. I want to be able to log into my HTC account. sending me a second email with a link to change my password when I have a problem with the email address itself is not going to solve my issue. Nevermind the fact that the link on it was only valid for a few hours, given your turn around time to respond that is unreasonable. Most people check their email once a day if that. 2016/04/16 09:55:13

well since I speak english, I have no idea what the last two emails were all about and since your customer service has been so terrible I'll be posting all these emails online to warn others about the dangers inherent in purchasing an HTC Vive.

This last one was sent seperately and in another language not sure if its spanish or portugese. still no idea why they can send me emails but thier website will not recognize the email in thier system.

Multiple time I got repeated by the "support" guy that I apparently didn't typed and he would need to close the chat, yet I was clearly discussing and asking question.

I wish I can find some way to send the record of the chat I had to their superior or something.

Yeah support is bad, but having a support guy faking that I wasn't talking by repeating his "you're inactive" messages when I was clearly asking questions is totally making no sense.

Well guys unfortunatly these things seem to be in such high demand that they don't need quality customer service.

Hearing this is disappointing, but I know I'm not canceling my order because of it. And I doubt you will either.

Even if they mess up my order and I don't get it when I think I should, I'll just whine and wait or place another order.

Sucks being an early adopter doesn't it?

they didn't send you the info to track your order status in the initial reciept email? Mine, just after i placed the order, had all the info right there, a code and a password to use on their website to keep tabs on it

Here is my copy and paste email I received.

"Thank you very much for reaching the HTC Online Store email team, I hope you are having a great day,

First of all I apologize for the late response. I checked your pre-order information and here is what I found. You are in the wave of customers whose VIVE will ship in April. The VIVE will be delivered after 2 business days from the day it leaves our warehouse and it will require your signature to be delivered. At this time we do not have the exact date it will ship, however, as soon as we send you the product we will notify you and provide a tracking number that will indicate the delivery date. Additionally, this should be very soon since a hold was placed on your credit card back on February 29th and this is only done when we are getting close to your order being shipped."


I didn't use a credit card. I used paypal and my account was already charged.
