HTC Vive

Only one hdmi port in graphics card
I want to buy a HTC vive but I see you need to put a hdmi cable from the link box into the graphics card, but my graphics card only has one hdmi port? What would I do?

Buy a DP to HDMI adapter or cable

The link box also has a mini displayport. You can use either HDMI or displayport from your PC to the linkbox.

Looks like, would be helpful if you mentioned which graphics card you have.

I use display port for my Vive.

I'm on a 970 with 1xHDMI and 1xDisplay Port. With a cheap (passive not active) DP->HDMI adapter, I can drive my living room TV, and I drive the Vive via HDMI. It may be a card-specific problem, but I ran into a few minor glitches running the Vive from DisplayPort, so I switched it around and all is running perfectly now.

One HDMI should be enough for the Vive. It seems the GTX 9xx series from Nvidia (positive reports from 970 and 980 Ti) works with DP->MiniDP on the Vive. But there there are issues with the 1070/1080 if you use the DP. So if you would get a new Card I would get a Asus Strix 1070/1080 or some other card (I don't know one yet as everybody and its dog seems to puts in 3DPs for some reason) that got 2 HDMI-ports already. You don't need 2 HDMI for your HMD but it makes live so much easier if you would connect it to TV that usualy would be a few meters away from your PC. This helps your family to understand that you are not crazy if you run around screaming in your living-room and it would help you as your family would not call a doctor because they could see what you see on the TV.

Well, I just got my HTC VIVE and came across this... I have a f.ing 1080 ti amp extreme, one of the best graphic cards out there and it has only 1 HDMI port, but 3 DVI ports that I never used. Now I need to go out and buy a adapter. Sigh...

I used the DP instead of HDMI. Bought the cable for $15 on amazon same-day delivery. Easy.

Yes it works with a display port to HDMI cable

And yet they still don't put the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ $1 dollar in volume adapter in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ box. WHy put customers dropping this kind of money into a setup loop. So lame.
