Question on connections (displayport / HDMI)
Can you have a Displayport cable run from the GPU to the Breakaway Box, then connect the HDMI from the headset to the Box?

IOW, the connector box incuded would act as a Displayport -> HDMI converter.

GPU->Displayport Cable->Box->HDMI->Headset.(?)

Yes. The breakout box includes both HDMI and displayport inputs.

The output side is HDMI only.

So, the input to the Box from GPU can be Displayport, while the output (orange side) to the HMD is HDMI. The HDMI and DP "cross" in the box from the computer to the vive headset.

Reason I ask is the graphics card I'm working with on this computer is a 970, but only has a mini displayport available for output:steamfacepalm:

So I was contemplating, mini DP to HDMI converter? But then they are all just DP 1.2 to HDMI 1.0 or whatever, not 2.0.

If i can just use a simply miniDP -> DP adapter cable to connect to the breakout Box, thats easy then.

Hope this made sense.

im having problem also error 208 i use a tv as a display so graphics card hdmi is used already
i have a display port to mini display port from same graphics card to link box... get a big red
HEADSET NOT CONNECTED PROPERLY...may be the display port on the graphics card or cable itself will try with new cable first....funny thing though is check my system within steam and it says vive connected...:steamfacepalm:

FYI, the DP input on the breakout box is mini as well. All you'll need is a short male-to-male miniDP cable.
