Sleep mask mod

Wondering how many people have tried the sleep mask mod, and what the general opinion on it is. I cut one out over lunch and gave it a whirl for only 5 minutes or so.

Pros so far:

• Super comfortable on the face
  
• Noticeably wider FOV
  
• Much bigger sweet spot = sharper everything

Cons so far:

• Nose thingey touches face
  
• Eyelashes hit the lenses sometimes
  
• Can see some kind of blue edge around the screens - suspect it's from being *too* close

I'll likely be giving it a good run tonight and will report back. If nothing else, it's convinced me to finally rip open the packaging on the narrower foam that's still sitting in the Vive box and give it a go.

I changed a while ago only been good for me, only thing I noticed was I would get more fogging.
Not seen any blue edge and nose does not touch flap may have it cut different to mine.

I wouldn't be surprised if the sleep mask I bought is a little thinner, too. I have 3 and may experiment with some different cuts around the nose as well.

Definitely wider foam than the one I found here shipping from Canada. ( http://www.dx.com/p/soft-sponge-spandex-3d-eyeshade-black-112558#.Vx699DCLTcc ) This was linked in the original reddit post, I believe.

I'm going to keep an eye out for that same one you have - looks like it would be *exactly* right. Did you need to add velcro, or does it just stick on its own?

It has material on the outside of the memory foam that just sticks to the Velcro.

Yes it does look a lot thinner than the one I used.

i got the thin one and ordered a vr face mask pleather. when i swet, it doesnt soak into the foam. really smooth on my face.

I just bought a cheap Chinese replacement foam, fits perfectly and is less dense than the official one so it sits closer to the eyes for improved fov. I found it more comfortable than the sleep mask MOD.

If you're having issues with eyelashes, just use the side adjusters and move it out a couple of clicks.

I ordered ones that look pretty much identical to the ones that Rambo got... cheap, and easy to cut to size. $3.28 US.

These just arrived! Ebay delivery to Canada from Wallaby World is about 4 months it seems.

Also, the mask Rambo linked is the best I've tried yet. Order now to beat the summer rush!
