Using the HTC Vive with near/short sighted eye condition PLEASE READ
So i have had the vive for a few days now and i am absolutely loving it!
As mention above i am very short sighted. i wear corrective glasses for every day stuff including using them with the vive which is a little tricky sometimes but i make do.
However even with my glasses, things close up become blurry such as details and text which is quite annoying. I have adjusted the lens distance with the side knobs but still no difference :(.
so my question to you is if anyone knows of a way in the softwar or some tweek to adjust the focal depths or something to help me with this? it would be amazing if someone has any ideas. thanks! :)

I saved this link for a friend if he ever decides to get a Vive. Would custom lenses like these be of help to you? (Curious for my buddy as well.)

The side knob only adjusts the IPD and probably won't help. I found a guide I'm going to post on how to measure your IPD which should come in handy.

There is a knob which adjusts IPD and also the two knobs on each side of the headset you pull out and adjust the distance. Then click back in place and you can have different distances for each eye.

The sleeping mask mod made everything clear for me at close distance. I wear glasses for anything at distance like tv being more than 1.5 metres away and driving. Don't wear them with the vive though as not needed.

I'm also interested as I'd like to get a bit closer to the lenses. I did some looking and if you buy two through this Amazon link you get free shipping and it's only $12. https://www.amazon.com/USpicy-Contoured-Lightweight-Comfortable-Guaranteed/dp/B013S9CPDE?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

If you only buy one the shipping isn't free without prime or a larger order. Just placed my order for two. Figured having a spare to swap will let them last longer.

Yes not for everyone so I suggest you take the foam face gasket out and try the vive without it. If clearer then def get them.

As it increases FoV, sharpness and also much more comfy I found. Before I was adjusting the HMD every 15 minutes and throwing tracking out just couldn't get it right. After with the sleeping mask mod never have to adjust and can use for hours.

That was before my accident so only got a week of use with sleeping mask but it was just so much better in that week.
