Displayport audio missing?
So my question/problem is this:
i'm using atm Displayport-MiniDisplay to connect my graphics card and Vive's link box, but i can't see/find audio option for Displayport in SteamVR -> Settings -> Audio.
I can use Vive's USB cable for my audio, and if i use HDMI cable for my Vive i can use audio through it too.

To recap:
USB audio: Works
HDMI audio: Works
Displayport audio: not showing

So, to save blood and tears:
Is Displayport audio worth the hassle to get working over USB audio (is it better?)
or
should i change to HDMI connection for Vive?
(i'm using my only HDMI slot for my monitor atm)

My setup sounds the same as yours. I'm using display port audio right now, but it shows up in SteamVR as "Vive HDMI audio" or something similar.

That option did actually disappear on me once or twice so far, but a reboot fixed it. Seems the audio is a little finicky right now... another option for you is to buy a displayport->HDMI adapter, and as long as your graphics card is DP++, you essentially then have 2 HDMI ports for the output.

Yea, i've been reading people having problems like this, have to try couple of times rebooting/restarting.

Did you just reboot SteamVR, Vive or your whole computer to fix it?

It was the whole computer. The output device (Vive HDMI) had even disappeared from the Windows device listing. Reboot fixed it... I'm considering the adapter route myself, as when I was using the breakout box with an HDMI connection, it was pretty much flawless.

Figured out that you can force it to reappear by restarting in direct mode and then disabling it (and vice versa)
