Because i only have one eye and want to use the VR glasses.

I'm pretty sure you still can as I am blind in one eye too. I think it'll be just like real life except you won't have an depth perception, just like real life.

I'm sorry but I think you need both eyes to use VR, because each part of the screen is used for each eye.

I don't think why it shoud not work. You still have the head tracking and the roomscale part. But anyway, in your case, I suggest you try that out first.

ask someone with a set & tell them to close one eye & get the results
You can use vive with one eye but you will not expirience vr
jesus. you got all trolled.
I'm pretty sure you can but you wont see anything in 3D which is what makes vr so immersive, with one eye you will still be able to use the room scale, 360 view, and controllers while in game, so it's really up to you. I would check out the gear vr or some other mobile vr headsets before dropping $800 for something you might not enjoy.

you will see 3d all fine, its only for me dominate eye uses targeting other just by the side.
VR its same like in real life, try close one eye do you see anything ???? same with VR I tried it and its a fact. Dont lissen to people who dont have it, they know F all.

In its current state VR is missing several of the usual depth cues. Having only one eye removes the biggest depth cue provided by VR (binocular parallax). So I would recommend trying the Vive or Rift in a shop to check if he can use them with the limited depth information.

Odd topic this... why wouldn't it work for him? He doesn't see "3D" in real life either lol.

And he has the most obvious depth cue there is, the controllers -> Your hands within the game. You'll have a blast with the tracked controllers.
try google cardboard if the 3d effect works for you the VR glasses should work, they both use stereoscopic video for 3d.

How do you know he's trolling moron? Some people do only have one eye. Pity for you that you have no brain.

Let's assume there's no trolling involved etc. yes, you definitely can use VR glasses. Your vision will be as impaired same as in the real world - no matter whether you've got problems seeing specific colors, depth, or lost some sight completely.

You'll just be lacking depth information as you do on a normal non-3D monitor. If you're capable of navigating first person shooters or adventures, you shouldn't have a problem with 3D goggles.

However, keep in mind that your computer will still have to compute the second image as well, so in the end this might still have a significant performance impact on your gaming experience, despite you not gaining anything form the second perspective.

The situation is more complex than you are describing. VR is missing an important monocular depth cue: accommodation. In real life the eye muscles change the focal length of the eyes; the movement of the eye muscles is a depth cue; current VR headsets have fixed focal length.
The FOV is narrower than real life; then the curvilinear perspective is not as effective as a depth cue either.
Textures, lighting and shading are quite simple in current VR games, so their contribution as depth cues is also dimished.
So the OP needs to try the Vive to see if the remaining depth cues are enough for him.
