how much power does it need?

hello i am iraneth, and i am looking to get a HTC vive. but i have to ask, how much power does it need? in volts. now i do need a better GPU i know that. but how much power does it pull from the PC? couse my power limet is really close and i do not think my PC can power a HTC vive.

or does it have its own wall plug?

the baseestations have there own walloutlet plug.

The base stations and the linkbox all have their own power outlets. The only connection that is made to the PC is through USB and HDMI.

The system is 12v and the max draw from a single lighthouse is 2.5amps and the headset is 1.5amps. All come with region plugs.

The ACs can handle 100-240V and the ones for the base stations needs 0,75A and the one for the hdmi/usb box needs 0,5A

I know they have seperate outlets but I'm curious how much power they draw average. It is about 80 W top I guess.

oh ok, so it does not pull power from the PC? if so then the likes of me getting one just jumped by 40%

It shouldn't draw any power from the PC BUT VR games are very demanding so CPU and GPU are used much more than in normal usage, even other normal games.

my PC is fine for that stuff buuut its GPU is crap
