My ping sucks in BAM 350+
Shame I love the game but waste of time playing
I guess it would be like asking, Why buy a logitech mouse over a Razor?
I know this is an old thread but I guess it all boils down to what you can afford. I played the Oculus Rift at a friend' house...loved it. That's all my wife could afford for me at Christmas. The vive is way too expensive for something that is, in essence, a "toy". It serves really, no productive purpose and will not make me money or help me with my database admin job.
The rift library is not compatible with steam community? It seems I am being segregated into a rift community which is dead.
My own opinion. But, I bought Oculus when it went on sale last summer for $399 with the touch controllers, 2 sensors, a wireless Xbox controller, and a few free games. At the time the VIVE was still at least $599 and it may have still been $699. The specs for the headsets are so similar, I mean same FOV, same resolution, that I think it's only a matter of preference, the experience has to be pretty similar, I've even heard many people who own both say that very thing and they seem to maybe prefer one over the other for some small trivial reason.
If the price of the two headsets would have been closer when I bought, I probably would have had a harder time deciding.
