Help! Vive Display won't turn on.
Ok so I started up my Vive as usual but I get no image. Steam VR isn't showing me any errors and tell me everything is ready, but my Headset shows no image and the display is not even turned on.
I checked the cables on the Linkbox and my PC and they are all plugged in correctly.
Firmware of everything is up to date.

Anything change since the last time you used it? New firmware, drivers, SteamVR updates, etc?

I don't think so. if I turn on the mirror window I even can see that the headset is still beeing tracked.

Edit: Also the lamp on the HDM seem to be red most of the time. When I put it on the ground for 5 seconds it turns green and when I move it, it goes to an even brighter green which then turns back to red after a few seconds. (during all that the display is still off)

already checked all these things. Its gettign a bit frustrating.
I am now changing from steamVR beta back to normal and see if that helps. If not, Vive support will have a bit fun with me.

Try a different HDMI cables from the PC to the link box, and from Vive to link box. One of it may be broken.

already tried multible cables. And When I connected the Vive's HDMI cable to my monitor it also worked.

Did you try connect Vive directly to PC? (hdmi only)

Was going to do that when I redownloaded SteamVr (takes a bit... downloading with 700 kbps club)

If Vive will work then your linkbox is broken... or hmdi port on videocard (Did you check hdmi port? Is it work with monitor?)

Vive still won't work. I'll just get in contact with the Vive support. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

IIRC, someone awhile back had a similar issue that turned out to be a loose ribbon cable connecting the display in the headset. Although naturally trying a self repair on that will involve potentially voiding one's warranty.

The vive is not really user repairable because they glue some pieces together :(

There's a small "slide" where the wires connect to the headset (where the HTC logo is). If you make it so the lenses face you, put a thumb on each side, then kinda push forward.

Just make sure none of the cables are loose, then just slide it right back.

This is also where the Vive USB port is, so if you got a USB headset or something, you can just connect it directly to the Vive.

Ok I had a similar issue, could not get my headset to work when everything else seemed ready to go...figured out why. I run 2 gtx 670 4gb (for now) and use 3 monitors, one being a TV. I only have one HDMI input per card and with SLI enabled I can't use the HDMI on the second card. I had an adapter that would allow me to hook up my TV via HDMI-DVI. But when I did that, everything turned on except the headset. Long story short, I went into Nvidia control panel and turned the refresh rate on the TV from 60 to 59hz...fixed it for me. This is a very specific issue but for anyone running multiple screen setups with no headset image give it a try.

So i still have problems with error 422 sometimes ... problem with display doesn't want to turn on and so on.. i changed all cables to be sure its not cables and still had problems...

now I'm sure that I have solution for my problem...
if I reinstall graphic drivers with clean install (removing old) then VR will work... I still need to turn off and on power to the VR headset (by unplugging power cable) to make display turn on don't know why .. but it works like a charm every time..

and it holds like a week then I have to reinstall drivers again ...
