What's the correct way to set up HTC Vive base stations on tripods?
I have the original HTC Vive but every time I set up the base stations diagonal from each other the controllers will sometimes glitch so it's hard to fire guns or fight with swords in blades and sorcery in Pavlov

How high up is that? If they're low you might break line of sight between them, which means they will go out of sync and things will go derpy. You can fix this by running the sync cable instead of relying on the IR blaster. Again depends on just how high up you get the base stations.

About 2M 7ft and they have a 360 Degree Swivel Mini Ball Head mount

Question then is if you manage to break line-of-sight between the base stations even at that height. Depending on how tall you are and/or how much you flail the controllers about above your head 😅

I don't follow? could you simplify your question?

Eh, OK, I'll try, note at which point it gets too confusing.
  1. Line of sight = a straight line between two elements
  2. Line of sight between base station = a straight line between the two base stations
  3. Imagine this line and try to think of if you can cross it while playing VR games
  4. Breaking or crossing this line can cause an interruption in the tracking, or glitches
Makes sense?

So the question is then, are you breaking line of sight between the base stations?

I don't think I'm breaking line of sight because the base stations indicator turn green when they see each other and when there's glitches I turn to the sync cable but that doesn't seem to fix the problem

Do you change the modes of the stations when you plug in the cable? Channels should be A and B when using the cable[www.vive.com].

Yes I do change the channel but does the same thing
