Are there different kind of generations of the OG vive?
I am planning on getting one, i'm getting it used, since in europe the HTC vive costs about 180 usd more (160 euros), i found a nice deal for 430 euros, but the seller said he got it in 2016, so i started wondering aren't there like other generations, that got released later, with like "fixes" added to them that don't really change alot to the "useage" but like are good to have?
If anyone could tell me if i'd be better off buying one that was made in 2018 or am i fine if i get the one from 2016 (with ofc testing etc)

There have been a few improvements over time. The new Vive is lighter, has better straps for the wands and a new 3-in-1 cable.
The older version is fine, but if you find a newer one for the same price, you should go with that one.

As far as I know, there were a lot of versions, but none for consumers.
There are only 2 public: Vive, and Vive Pro

so basically the one that got produced in 2016 should be identical to the one made for example in 2018?

Anyone with the bigger 3 in 1 ribbon cable is someone who bought a Vive in the first 3 months of launch. HTC switched to the newer cable pretty quickly.
