HTC Vive Controller: Touchpad Problem
I have had my Vive for maybe more than a year ( don't remember). I didn't notice for a while but I was having an issue with one of my controllers. I wasn't able to click with the touchpad a few time when I would play a game, but then it would work again all of a sudden. Now I cannot click on the right, up, or on the left side of the trackpad. The only thing that will click is the button of it. Anyone got any advice on how I could fix it?

Before you do the above video (no offence Jazneo), firmly squeeze the controller either side of the trackpad on the wand case. If it clicks, try the pad again. I;ve read of other people having issues with right clicking and that fixed it.

Yeah, I saw those videos are ready Jazneo, and I don't want to do that yet until I have ruled out all my options. If I screw up on taking it apart, I doubt I would be able to get another one for a while. Controllers are expensive. I have also tried that Maddog and still nothing. I feel like that it might be shifted but I don't know yet. If all else fails, I have a buddy that can take a look at it. I just don't trust myself to take it apart XD.

I've taken mine apart multiple times. Just be careful... Your rubber disk either moved or desentigrated.

You can see on Amazon many are having this issue. Some said they took it apart and placed some tape inside and that took care of it.

Does anyone know when their new controller design is coming out? It confuses me that there is a new controller coming out because they show the old style with the brand new Vive Pro that is coming out. I guess the new controllers wont be sold with the pro and youll have to buy them as an upgrade? If that is the case I think that is terrible for the consumer and a good way to piss us off.

Just found this, if you didnt already know the new controllers are called "knuckles" and it is made by Valve, not HTC. Wont come with the Pro. No news yet about release date or price.

Yeah the new controllers will not be sold with the new Vive Pro. They are still in development at the moment and they have not given a release date. Valve has been keeping it a secret for now. Yeah I saw those to on amazon to see if I could get more info. I also looked on reddit and I got the same thing. For now I will hold off on doing it until I will really need to for my games.
