Does the Vive go on sale for the Summer sale?

I don't remember it being on sale ever. But I expect slight discount after Valve Index is out.

HTC make and price the Vive. Any sales are purely at their discretion and are few and far between at the moment.

Valve launch their headset in a week or so.

After that all bets are off but if you're a gamer it's probably not going to be worth buying a Vive as HTC's partnership with Valve is cooling off (their next headset is not based on Valves tech) and they seem more interested in business customers and their own storefront (Viveport).

I think only the pro goes on sale. Last black friday they only put the pro on sale unfortunately.

Thing is. Paying an extra 500$ doesn't really justify your reason, in pretty sure the vive will still be an alternative for people.

Yep since Index is daaaaamn expensive I don't see any Vive discount soon.

I've been looking at getting a VR Headset for quite some time and have had my eye on the HTC Vive hoping there would be some sale as the £500 price tag is just not something I can justify shelling out right now, let alone £1000 for the Steam Index.

I am hopeful that when the Steam Index comes out, some months after the HTC Vive might drop in price for those that want to get into the VR games!

Honestly Vive is still totally worth it. Especially if you have a bit weaker PC. But I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting lower price for Index and discounts on Vive. Not gonna happen soon it seems :(
