Can't purchase through Steam?

Why can't we purchase through Steam anymore? Have steam wallet and would prefer to use that

You've never been able to purchase through steam. HTC sells the Vive. Valve sells the index.

Yes, but it's on back order and you might have to wait to receive it.

Yes I've had OSVR and now rift S. I didn't like the vive wands so i ignored it because of tracking problems.

It tracks the controllers and the HMD and the positions they are in.
