Now that I got the Vive, I gotta unplug my alt monitor and plug in the DisplayPort Vive cable.
The problem is that I only got one DisplayPort port, so I found these switchers, where you plug in the Vive cable and the monitor cable, and then connect the switcher to the graphics DP port. Then you just hit a button in the switcher, and the video source would switch between the Vive or the monitor. I believe it would be exactly as just manually plugging and unplugging cables, but instead you do it on a single button press.
I'm asking here because I'm scared to spend on something that will not work on the Vive (I know the Vive works with 90Hz and the switch is 60Hz), causing artifacts, or problems in the 3D View
A switch box will always cause some signal degradation. Usually the more money you spend, the more chance enough of the signal will pass through to the device and operate correctly.
If you can purchase the box with a view to trying it and able to return for full refund if it doesn't work, then that is your best option.
Swapping plug ins from your graphics card on a regular basis is not good for the card.
Getting a graphics card with three outputs may well be your best fallback option; plenty of those on ebay.
