I accept that there's going to be problems with first gen technologies. I don't see any glare at all, yet. I was actually waiting for 2nd Gen to get into VR, but the Oculus selling that bundle at $399 was just too good to pass up. I mean I generally spend that much every week on stuff I don't need, so no big deal. $800 is a little more for me as it would mean I have to skimp on things for a week or so, but I would buy the VIVE now if I had enough evidence that it's that much better. But from what I've seen, the only thing bothering me so far, the SDE, it looks like it's worse on VIVE. The one thing that I definitely think is better with VIVE is Steam.
When you're playing Space Pirate Trainer the SDE is gone because your eyes are focusing on the robots.
Same with any game.
Zoomed in 8x the difference is more stark.

Yeah, looks that way, I've got mine cranked up to 2.0 now and does not reduce screendoor at all.
I don;t see the god rays, still see the screendoor, but when things get busy I tend to not notice it as much now.
First gen VR will have screen door effect there is nothing you can do about it, just when you look around use your head to move around and keep your eyes forward.
Also its less noticable in darker enviroments i find but it dose not take away from the fun atm playing through parnormal activity the lost soul
had a phew moments where i jumped and was WTF F**K YOU B***C! LOL so fun
