nearsighted adjustments?

BLURRY VIVE FIX!
I've been reading a lot of posts about people who find their vive screen to be blurry. The solutions seem obvious, right? twist the little knob at the bottom to adjust the IPD? Can't find that sweet spot? Still blurry? That's because there isn't just one visual adjustment mechanism on the Vive, there's two! pop "out" the gray rings on the strap mounts on both sides of your headset by your ears. You can now crank the left ring, moving the entire HMD closer or farther from your eyes. Then adjust your IPD knob. Boom. Crisp AF. I thought mine was blurry for three days before I found it! I don't remember them telling me about that in the tutorial so it seemed kind of secret to me.

is this true? can i adjust the vive to work without glasses?

The Vive doesn't have focus adjustment. The distance adjustment described above is more for fit (particularly to use glasses). I suppose it will have a slight effect on focus as it does shift the lens distance from the eyes a little bit, but it's not intended for that. Plus as you move the lenses away from the eyes, you lose FOV.

That knob is important, and it's also important the vertical adjustment of the headset !!!
By the way, you can size the distance between your eyes using a ruler in front of a mirror, look for instructions on the web.
