Yeah, but why is it called "Oriental" if it's only China? Just name it China Empires.
No Japanese? Mongols? Koreans?

Cuz only China can be called an Empire at that time :D, Korean and Japanese were just babarians(no offense). But i agree with that it should add some more ppl in it.

I believe they may add these later. At least I saw discussion to that end on the game's website forum some time ago.

After reading all the fine comments on game play, looking forward to the Steam key for winning the battle cry contest so I can start playing too :)

Mongols are in the game already, I think. Xianbei in the Grand Campaign, also called Mongols when you create a custom game. One of the other factions is the race that eventually became the Turks. Like it or not, these were all populating China and competing for territory there in 1500 BC.

Just a little correction, Xianbei(鮮卑) are not Mongols, Turks are also not Mongols, there are far more Nomadic tribes other than just Mongols in northern China. "Xiongnu(匈奴)" is the actual ancestor of Mongols(probably also Huns) and they're in the game.

Mongol originally was merely a group of tribes who emerged around 11~12th century, by the time they're unified as one, the Xianbei people were already assimilate into Chinese long time ago.

A better question would be why they titled the game Oriental Empires. China and its neighbors are not in the Orient. China is Asia. Turkey and its neighbors are in the Orient.. The Orient Express (railroad) ran from Paris to Instanbul. I like your suggestion or maybe Asian Empires would be a more beffiting title.
