I noticed there isn't one of these threads for Snakebird.
Post some other games of varying size that you believe are similar in gameplay or feel.

While I haven't seen anything on Steam, I did find one small game that very much shares some of the mechanics of Snakebird (Requires Flash to play, might not be playable anymore):

I have written about snake puzzle games[joelthefox.github.io], you might find some other snakebird-like games on there. I haven't written about overall puzzle game recommendations, but maybe I will some day.

One of the most accurate answer possible to share would be...

Snakebird is nothing else than

1. a turn-based (meaning uncontinious time flow) ;
   
2. Sokoban (pushing blocks) ;
   
3. with a side view (2D game with gravity) ;
   
4. cardinal movements (up down left right) ;
   
5. non-newtonian properties (no friction) ;
   
6. collectible items with surface effects and increasing the size of snakes(changing the environnement by substraction) ;
   
7. separated levels (united by a hub) ;
   
8. switch of characters (2 or 3 snakes) ;
   
9. and with multiples objects (with their own properties).

Of course as cute (by his nice colors and melodie) as it is challening (with a wonderful progression curve).
