Very good game

Cannot say enough good things about this game!!! 90 out of 10!!! A masterpiece.

This game reminds me of the love of my life.
its chill cool game that is worth playing for sure and specially in coop.
old school vibes, and lovely art style.

Its no Witcher 3 or Half Life Alyx. but still recommended.

We don't talk about trine....

This game takes what was great about the first game and makes it even better. My friends and I had a blast with the first game, and were thrilled that the experience we got from this title was even better.

The story was definitely an improvement over the story from the first game, with the same good narration and character dialogue, and a plot that was interesting, even if it was still a bit predictable. I still wouldn't recommend this game based on the story alone, but the improvement over the story from the first game was good to see.

The gameplay was fantastic, with new mechanics such as redirecting water or lasers, more interesting and challenging boss fights, and some really neat new abilities for each character, which were lots of fun to use. These abilities also provide some really interesting and potentially unintended ways to pass certain puzzles or platforming sections, but this just made the game more entertaining, and combined with better puzzle design to allow more flexibility in how each character can get past a section (usually), and the silly platforming jank that also seems to exist throughout this whole series, there's often lots of different ways to pass each section.

This game looks very good for it's age, and ran fairly well, although the same physics jank from the first game exists in this game as well, and we encountered some additional bugs as well, such as XP and achievements being collected inconsistently, invisible walls/floors appearing or disappearing sometimes, or items disappearing. Other than forcing us to restart a level once or twice, these issues didn't cause us any major headaches, so they weren't a huge hindrance to the experience.

TL;DR This co-op platformer improves on it's predecessor, with a better story, fun new mechanics and abilities, better puzzle and boss design, and the same fantastic visuals and silly physics jank the series is known for. Although the story could still be a little bit better and there were a few bugs, I'd still highly recommend this game for people looking for a fun platformer to play with friends, especially if you enjoyed the first game.

Great game - perfect for couples who like to have a challenge

Trine 2 successfully managed to fix some of the issue Trine 1 had:
New game mechanics keep levels challenging and fresh (gravity bubble for one)
Collectables are can now float in the air, which adds a totally different level of challenge
Baddies are much more diverse, with some new skills and quirks
Nice set of gorgeous environments to explore (especially the extension levels).

Downside is the same: it is still a physics-based puzzle platformer.
(Also, that one level is gross! You’ll know when you see it).
