Quite contrary to those reviews, if you're playing alone, you can really calm down and soak in the rich atmosphere and beauty of the game. In multiplayer, you'll probably end up rushing things and can't really proceed at a nice and pleasant pace.
I played all 3 modes and I think that local coop is easiest one and more forgiving. If you don't like puzzle then it's quite easy to skip.
For example we skipped mirrors' levels because we don't like them.
When you are playing alone you may stop playing when game starts be annoying. And with friends you can't start and stop playing as you wish...
I think that playing alone is best for solving puzzles and with friends for fast playthrough.
The game looks like YS series for fighting and Brain for solving puzzles. I hope the soundtracks are good.
I think it's worthy for relaxing after work:D.
But yes, I never once regretted purchasing Trine, and Trine 2 (while lacking the accessories mechanic, sadly) is arguably better, even without multiplayer.
With friends? Now we're talking.
Anyone fancy to have coop play, please add me as friend (I'm from ASIA so I think it's OK to play coop in the same region :D).
