I do not have a controller plugged in. and I have changed the resolution/aspect ratio to match that of my desktop.

You could try setting multiple keyboard and mouse mode. If you are gaming on a laptop with external mouse, try disabling the touchpad.

If the above suggestions don't help, please post your system configuration or at least your mouse's model.

Not a Laptop. Mouse is a Razer Naga Elite.

Did you try the multiple keyboards and mice mode? You can either activate with via the Settings menu (though that may be a bit challenging without mouse input) or by editing options.txt in %appdata%\Trine2 (just copypaste that to explorer), with Notepad for example. Just look for line with MultipleKeyboardsAndMiceEnabled and change "false" there to "true".

I did indeed try that, and it didn't work. I feel like the issue is Windows 8.1... When I was on the same PC with windows 7 I had no issues.

Yeah, we don't have any Windows 8.1 computers here, so it could be related to that. Your mouse isn't quite standard either, so could be related to that too. Would you happen to have another mouse you could test with?

I do not have another mouse. My mouse has never been an issue before, Not even when running Trine 2 on Windows 7. It must be a windows 8.1 thing.

There are some mouse affecting settings in options.txt that you may try to toggle: UseOSPointerBallistics, UseAbsoluteMouseMode, MousePointerBallisticsEnabled. I don't think they will help though, since MultipleKeyboardsAndMiceEnabled didn't.

I have the same issue here. And only on windows 8.1.

My laptop came with windows 8, and trine 2 was working perfectly. But when I upgraded to 8.1, this exact mouse issue happened. On my desktop I was running Win7, no problems at all. But now I've installed win 8.1 (on a separate hard drive), yup, mouse doesn't work.

Most definitely some weird conflict with windows 8.1.

I don't know if this is a common fix but it was quite difficult for me to find it. Here's a fix by user 'ddaymace' who, like me, had issues with my mouse cursor in Metro Last Light:

"Hi guys, I found a fix for this (worked for me at least). Right click properties on metro2033.exe, compatibility tab, check the box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This fixed the mouse bug for me on 8.1 preview."

This worked on trine2_32bit.exe as well. And could work on other games if there's mouse cursor issues possibly. So definitely a windows 8.1 specific bug.

Hope this helps!

I was also having this issue under 8.1 x64 preview. The mouse cursor would dissapear after getting to the Click here to start screen. I knew it was recognizing the mouse as mouse 1 and mouse 2 were performing actions. This suggested fix worked. Thanks
