Cannot Buy Trine 2 :Complete Story 3-Pack for Gift Purposes?

Thread name says it all.... smh >_<

I Already own Trine 2 and I would like to purchase the Three Pack so that I can upgrade my base game while giving away the extra copies to friends to play with...

When you buy the multi packs, the gift option is always greyed out and you have to buy for yourself. I know that if you didn't already own the game, it will auto-put one in your library and 2 in your gift pile. I would like to think that by already owning it, steam would just toss 3 gifts into your pile. I was unable to find anything in the support section about this. =(

I just tried to do this as well. Was going to buy 3 of the 3 packs but it will not allow me to since i already own the game. Shame that they do this was going to give them as gifts to some gamer friends and trine2 is a great gift for anyone. Shame they are being greedy with sale.

So how do I throw my current copy in the garbage can so I can get the 3-pack for my two kids and myself to play together for $5.99? If it's not possible, then this is pretty lame as I already bought a copy for $19.99 for myself and now I have the chance to get them for my kids at a reduced price. Don't make me call my Congressman in on this one. I'll do it. Just gotta find the number to Congressman.

I think you should be able to buy a copy (or a three pack in this case) to give as a gift regardless of whether you own the game previously or not.

Yes, Trine 1 and 2 are really great games. I like Trine 3, but I feel it deviated too far from the original concept and the controls are a bit clunky/awkward at times (I keep trying to hold the UP key in many situations and end up running into a bad place). Any idea if a Trine 4 is in the works?

It was asked just few days ago (probably in Trine 3 forum). According to Frozenbyte they are not currently working on new Trine.

Sorry for the delay with the answer, it seems that I hadn't subscribed this discussion.

Unfortunately Steam does not allow you to buy a three pack of a game that you already own. If buying these via you kids' account isn't an option, you could check Humble Store as Trine 2 is currently on sale there. Trine 2 Humble Store page[www.humblebundle.com]

At the moment we don't have plans to continue Trine. The series is however still close to our hearts, so hopefully we can get back to it in the future. :)

Just for future reference, you can go to the Help tab up in the top right, click steam support and ask them to remove it from your library and I think that allows you to buy it again.
Help > Steam Support > Games,Software Etc > Trine 2 > I'd like to remove this permanently from my account
