Why is my 1366x768 not fullscreen? (has black borders top and bottom)
How come when in 1920x1080 the game is fullscreen, but when at 1366x768, I have black borders at the top and bottom?

This doesn't make sense, cause both are 16:9 resolutions and my monitor is 1920x1080 native res.

Can anyone please explain to me?

THanks!

This might be caused by improper support from driver for various resolutions on this screen.

Tell me your pc specifications and gpu driver version.

Gt 620 GPU. Intel i5 3rd Gen CPU. 8GB RAM. Samsung 21-inch Syncmaster monitor.

Update gpu driver to latest available one which was released yesterday also find options.txt trine 2 configuration file and edit these lines exactly this way:

setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenWidth", 1366)
setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenHeight", 768)
setOption(renderingModule, "DetectedFullscreenWidth", 1366)
setOption(renderingModule, "DetectedFullscreenHeight", 768)
setOption(renderingModule, "ForceFullscreenWidth", 1366)
setOption(renderingModule, "ForceFullscreenHeight", 768)

This should force running game in this resolution in any possible way. If this still not work so probably you may need to mess with display settings in nvidia control panel.

I don't think there are any setting in Trine 2 that would affect this. Instead, you could try Nvidia Control Panel => Adjust desktop size and position => Change scaling settings to Aspect ratio or Full-screen. Remeber to select correct display if you have several.

For what it's worth, every game in my library has some sort of display issue at 1366x768. Wierd cause 1920x1080 (same aspect ratio) has ZERO issues.

JLarja, i know probably it has nothing to do with game settings, but i was out of ideas and suggested what i suggested. With many displays running something with non-narive resolution may cause improper scaling. In this case we have blackbars, for example when i run games in 1280x720 on my 1920x1080 tv they are cutted down on edges, just image is bigger than screen.

himatsj, try this what i suggested and Jlarja precised, go to nvidia control panel and try these settings.

Yeah, that's actually caused by idiotic[1] consumer electronic standard makers. In ye olde days, analog TVs used part of the image signal for synchronization, so edges of the image were cut off (later those cut of parts were used to send teletext, among other things). When it was time to create digital TVs and HDMI specification, someone thought it was a great idea to keep clipping the edges of the screen, because otherwise you would have to send different image for analog consumption. So now we have nice, crisp 1080p image, which is cropped to something smaller and then scaled to 1080p, resulting in no longer sharp image.

[1] Yes, yes, there are reasons why this is done, but they are mostly bad.

Scaling options are in the Nvidia control panel under "Adjust Desktop Size and Position". You may also find scaling options on your monitor OSD.

i had this problem too but i solved it with a pray x.x

Ok guys, I solved this issues! Now, all games are running on the correct resolution I set it to. For example, 1366x768 is now full-screen completely, which 1440x900/1680x1050 have black black on the sides.

Curiously, I just tried 1600x1200 but sadly this has issues. It is stretched as if it is 21:9. Thankfully, I don't use that resolution anyways!

Here's what I did:

I changed "Perform Scaling On" DISPLAY to GPU. That's all.
