Language problem (only english or russian) [solved]

So I can only choose english or russian at startup but I'd like to set it to german. What could be the problem there? I've verified files and redownloaded the game but nothing gives me more options. In the save files the german language has properly been downloaded...
If I manually set it to "de" for german in options.txt it doesn't work either.

Frozenbyte gave me the following solution, if anyone has the same issue:

Before you start, make sure that the game is not running and that Steam is turned off. Note that you have to shut down the Steam client entirely, not just log out, because it will probably cause a clash if you try to do this while Steam is running.

If you have any save data in the game, navigate to .../Steam/userdata/[your Steam ID number]/35720/remote and copy-paste the whole remote folder to a safe location. This is just to make sure your saves will be safe in case anything happens.

Then, navigate to ...SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Trine 2. Delete these two files:
locale1.fbq
locale2.fbq

Now navigate to .../SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Trine 2/data/launcher/locale. Delete these files:

launcher_default_locale
launcher_locale0.fbll
launcher_locale2.fbll
