PS4 controller doesn't work!

Spent money on this game only to be dissapointed at how poor key binding is. I tried everything! in game control configurations and joystick mapper and other apps. Controller works but key actions are messed up and i'm just tired with it.. help?

Sorry for the slight delay.

Unfortunately It seems that the right stick isn't working with the PS4 default binds. This means you have to change the "move cursor" and "aim" binds through the configure controls menu.

I recommend deleting you current binds as you've probably done some changes to these, you can find user binds folder by copying the following to Explorer: %appdata%/trine2

Make sure that your game is closed when you delete the binds. After this I recommend validating your game cache, right-click on Trine 2 in your Steam Library → click on Properties → choose the local files tab → click the button to verify integrity of game cache.

Now launch the game and navigate to settings and configure controls. Choose Amadeus and rebind "move cursor" to right stick, after this change to Pontius and bind "aim" to right stick.

Binds should now be normal. Please let me know if there is still something wrong with the binds after these changes. :)

I'm on mac but ok I located the folder and deleted binds

and did what you told me
but can you give me the whole binding map for PS4?

Sorry I seem to have jumped into conclusion that you're playing the game on Windows.

Unfortunately we don't have official support for PS4 controller on Mac so I can't promises that you get the controller to work. You can find the binding map from here.[www.frozenbyte.com]

deleted all binds again and followed exactly the binding map in the link...nothing worked!

Theif stuck in the arrow aim position and Knight on defense position. They don't move or do anything else.

Game is unplayable by keyboard because it's hard to do things simultaneously like grappling hook/swinging/jump

any other suggestions ? I really wanna play this game :(

Try launching Steam Big Picture Mode which has its own gamepad settings. Maybe launching the game from Big Picture Mode after configuring the gamepad there helps.

I took a quick look of the binds on Mac. It seems that I was able to get the movement right but other changes that I made were overwritten by the controller.

One thing you could still try is metal revolution's suggestion. I don't have that much experience configuring a controller through Steam myself, but you could see if this[www.tomsguide.com] article or Google could prove useful.

Dude I even purchased the steam controller, didn't work on Trine 2, other games like Tomb Raider, Insurgencey or Gang Beasts. Mac problem?!?!

I know its been quite a while so this is a moot point...but try going into big picture mode and turning on PS4 and xbox AND the 3rd controller option. thats what i did and which finally got mine working. I'm not on mac but its worth a try if you're still interested in these games.

Had the same problem in Trine 1. The solution if you are 2 players:
- Use DS4 for windows to emulate your controllers as xbox controllers (option "Hide DS4 for windows" is NOT necessary)
- In Trine options, configure 1st player as keyboard and 2nd as controller.

If you play alone, just use the keyboard. If three, idk.

Played it yesterday with an Xbox and a PS gamepad, the latter through Steam's input mapper.
