I've been having the same issue. By trying to launch from the steamapps folder it gives the "WMVCore.dll" file not found error. I'm running the N version of Win10 so this should be because I don't have Windows Media Player. But when trying to download the recommended media package it says that the update doesn't apply to my PC. I really wish I could get this working :(

Okay I solved it now. It was about the Media Package for the N version. Since my version had the KB3010081 version installed, I couldn't install the KB3099229 version (that is the one that has been linked to the official bug reporting thread OP if I'm correct). After searching a bit I found out it had something to do with the version of Win10 I'm running so the correct package I had to download was actually the KB3133719. I downloaded it and it installed normally and after a reboot the game opened without a problem. Hopefully this helps. You can search for all the "KB" packages in the support section of windows website.

Yay for Windows! One day people will realize Linux is a better platform. Until then, dual boot sending me straight to hell.

This solved the problem for me. Thanks:steamhappy:
I can't get it to work :( Like Monkeybomb, it says I'm missing WMVCore.dll. Installing the media packages hasn't helped; many of them say they're not supported by my system and the one that did work (KB3099229) didn't fix the problem...

Yeah it seems there was another Win10 update :( It's getting hard to keep up with these... Here is the new package you need to download, worked for me.

Tried and unfortunately didn't work for me.

someone gave the answer, which worked for me. It was the anti virus which was preventing the game to launch.
I have bitdefender and here is what to do with it (it shouldn't be so different with others anti virus), u need to open Bitdefender, click on "see functions" (arrow), go to "advanced threat defense", click on the wheel (bottom right), click on "Add to white list" then u find on C or D: Steam, SteamApps, Common, Marvel vs Capcom infinite and click on mvci. exe to add it on white list and OK.
Then it's done, problem solved.
