We hope you’re all enjoying or will be enjoying Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 shortly! While we hope all of our fans will have a great time with the game, there will always be some cases here and there where the game may not function correctly under certain environments and / or hardware combinations. With that said, we’ve set up this feedback thread for you all to share any technical issues you may be having with the game. We’ll use this thread as a central repository for tracking these problems, and pass on the information gathered here to the development team so they can investigate and work on a fix.
Before providing any reports, please ensure you've followed the steps below to rule out problems with your PC, Steam or the game’s files:

  • Please ensure you meet the minimum requirements for the game, outlined here; if you do not meet the minimum requirements for the game, this may result in poor framerate, or the game not running. Please note that some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work, but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom. If you do meet the minimum specifications but not the recommended specifications, you may want to try turning down the graphics settings, if you haven't already. If you’re experiencing performance issues while using a multi-GPU setup such as NVIDIA’s SLI or ATI’s Crossfire technologies, we recommend experimenting with disabling these settings, as they may cause compatibility issues with the game.
  • Check your Anti-Virus software
  • Some AV software may trigger a false-positive situation and flag certain executables from running. You can temporarily disable the AV software to see if the game behaves differently. If the game runs when AV is turned off, that means you'll need to create an exception rule to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
  • If you are encountering issues related to video playback with the game, this could be due to a missing Windows Media Player codec, which the game requires. Please ensure the appropriate version of Windows Media Player[support.microsoft.com] is installed on your system. Windows 10 N and KN Edition users will need to download the following Media Feature Pack[www.microsoft.com].
  • Ensure game files are intact using Verify Game Cache


1) From your Steam Library list, right-click on Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and select Properties.
2) Click the LOCAL FILES tab.
3) Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." and allow the validation process to run its course.

Please disable or shut down your anti-virus while this process runs.

This process allows the Steam client to scan every single file you downloaded for this game, verify checksum of each, and compare that against the file manifest data on Steam's content server. If the file is missing or has a different checksum value, you will receive a message stating "X files failed to validate and will be reacquired." What this means is that some files have either been deleted, or may have been corrupted. Click “Close,” and Steam will automatically download and / or replace the problem files.

Reinstalling your video card drivers
We also recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

If you still experience crash issues, you may want to try performing a clean installation of the driver set. This will remove any extraneous driver DLL files or game profiles that existed with the previous driver installation.

IMPORTANT! Lastly, please don't forget to reboot Windows upon completing the driver installation. This will help reinitialize the driver and the graphics card using the new driver.

If you are still experiencing crashes or other visual issues, try the following steps:

1) Locate the DXSETUP.exe and run it from the following file path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe

2) Locate the config.ini file and delete it or remove it from the following file path:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3\config.ini

If you still experience poor framerate, “slow motion” effects, crashes, or other issues, please help the dev team by providing detailed information below.

The more samples and data points we receive, the better we are able to narrow down and determine the root cause of these problems. Here’s what we need:

A) Your System Specs
1) CPU name & model
2) Name / model of the desktop or laptop (if available)
3) Graphics card / chip model and the amount of VRAM
4) Video driver version number
5) System memory size
6) OS version (Windows 7, 8, 10, 64-bit/32-bit, etc.)
7) Anti-virus software name and version

Please make special note in your specs if you are running Windows "N" and "K" editions that do not come with Windows Media Player.

A good deal of this information, such as the graphics card model and VRAM, are available by running a DxDiag report. For more information on how to run this report, click here.[www.fuzeqna.com]

B) Specific issue

Please share your specific issue and the location(s) where you’re experiencing the issues – for example, if you’re having problems with the framerate, is it happening constantly, or is it during certain cutscenes, during gameplay, etc.

If the game is crashing, it would be super useful if you can share your app crash log file via downloadable link using any one of the popular file hosting services such as DropBox, GoogleDrive, OneDrive, etc.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
This step particularly is very useful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

-The sound of some moves of Frank West are wrong, for example when he uses the plunger attack sound like zombies.

-Phoenix Wright's normals with paper have sounds of evidence clattering on the floor. Also, sometimes, in his intro, the collect evidence jingle will play for no apparent reason.

-Iron Fist speaks fine in the intro and victory poses, but he goes down to a whisper during a match. I've noticed the same with Ghost Rider.

-Sentinel, Rocket Raccoon, and others who have multi-hit supers make different sounds from the original PS3 or X360 version.

EDIT 1: Also Amateratsu sometimes sounds pig-like when being hit.

EDIT 2: Some voices of the characters when defeated had an echo, while others are just plain. On the X360 and PS3 versions all the voices had echoes.

EDIT 3: The connection bar status seems buggy, sometimes disappear in a second or two. Also it doesn't reflect the real quality of the online gameplay. Sometimes a green bar is unplayable while a red bar runs almost flawless.

EDIT 4: The voices of the characters when receiving damage are missing.

EDIT 5: The announcer between the matches in arcade mode has an echoe (Example: "Get ready for the fight of your life"), while in the PS3/X360 version doesn't.

All the above bugs apply also to the PS4 version.

There's a couple more exclusive to the steam version:

EDIT 6: The search of ranked or player matches doesn't work on Arcade mode or Online Mode. Only on training mode it appears to work.

EDIT 7: The matchmaking seems to be region locked, even thou the option region select is on "Any". I'm peruvian and only encounter matches with argentinian, chilean or brazilian people.

-The mouse cursor doesn't dissappear when entering the game, even on Big Picture Mode.

-When in atract mode the xinput controller doesn't respond, you have to use the keyboard to go to the main screen.

Do you have Windows Media Player (WMP) installed on your PC? The game requires the video codec from WMP in order to playback WMV intro movie. Some Windows PCs, especially in Europe, may not come preinstalled with WMP.

You can download and install the media pack from Microsoft below which includes the necessary codec.

I and a few other people are having trouble getting xinput devices to work. I am using the marvel pdp pad and cannot get it to work on pc. Official xbox one controller works fine though.

Frank West's Tools of Survival (plunger), camera, and super/critical art "Survival Techniques" make zombie grunting/groans.

Yeah, I know the PS4 port also had this audio issue, but I was at least hoping the steam release would have resolved this.

Sure, it is only a minor issue and I'm being nitpicky, but it can get a little annoying hearing zombie groans coming out of Frank's tools instead of the actual zombies.

Edit: Not just Frank, tbh. Quite a lot of characters have these audio issues.

I eventually fixed the problem, going into the config folder and changing it to 1920x1080 and full screen fixed it for some reason.
game runs extremely poorly. average 24 fps.

The game almost universally reports my connection as being bad (1 or 2 bars), but actual performance during games is excellent (feels like 4-5 bars on ye olde 360). I've tried rebooting, turning firewall off/on, no dice. I wouldn't care too much about this, except it can make it difficult to get into matches (nobody wants to play with the guy running Baby's First Internet).

game wont go pass 30 fps and characters take one-two seconds to move or it becomes a slide show havent tried online only arcade and versus from title screen to start screen stays at 30 fps I also took the gameout of fullscreen mode and still the same even shut off one gpu and still the same result

After successfully downloading the game, i found that everytime i try playing training, arcade or online mode, my game stops loading the screen at this point and practically freezes. On the other hand, i can do mission mode fine and watch matches online. Anyone have any ideas why? Also all of my files are verified so thats not the problem

No option to exit the game from controller, you have to press ESC on the keyboard...
CPU frequently maxing (100%) and near maxing out (95%-100%) on all cores causing frame drops when DSR 2-4x is activated. GPU barely breaking a sweat (<50%). Problem does not occur when native resolution is used.

When running full screen hitting ALT+ENTER to go to window mode is fine. When I hit ALT +ENTER to return to full screen the game crashes.

This happened during arcade mode. Doesnt seem to happen in main menu.
