With how "buddy buddy" Capcom and SNK have been for the past couple of years, I think Capcom vs SNK 3 is a lot more likely to happen.
Maybe the best hope for MvC at this point- and this is a long shot- is MvC3 being at mainstage Evo in August. A lot of community interest MIGHT reignite discussions about continuing the series, if it shows money is being left on the table.
Wild to imagine, but not out of the question that Netherrealm and Capcom trade comic franchises at some point. Ed Boon has expressed interest in Marvel on Twitter, and a Game Informer interview revealed the SF6 director and producer would like to work with DC characters. Wishful thinking is a long way from reality, tho.
