As long as we don't get that ESG patch like Skullgirls. lol
who gives a damn about ♥♥♥♥♥♥ skullgirls, what was the patch?
After the update, the game doesn't open for me anymore. Is anyone else having this issue?
I can't find any information on it either, I did stumble across an announcement that the game would be featured in the "EVO" E-Sports "Throwback Tournament" in Las Vegas, NV, in August 4-6 2023.
No its not an actual patch, no its not for EVO either.

A ton of other Capcom games have been getting updates from Ace Attorney, to Resident Evil, to Megaman.

Its just a Steam drm getting added, and it breaks all mods which is why your game isnt opening if you have mods.

Why the hell would they add any form of copy protection after all this time?

People people were having too much fun with content they didn't make. Guess same happened to Quake 3 earlier this year or so. Had skins that I've been using since like 2000, even on Steam, and now they don't work.
All the Id updates ruined mods for a stupid name change. And I wouldn’t care if the update was nightdives fantastic work on quake1. If a professional company outdoes mods like they are suppose to do it would be something to look forward to. Quake2 is frickin awful and the quake 1 update was about 3 years ago out of nowhere and they haven’t done anything with quake2. The Id name change update was absolutely pointless and messed up my berserker mod. They gave us the quake2 expansions free and I can’t even figure out how to use them. The industry on pc is straight uncaring trash that toss out mediocrity and insist we figure it out. And rely on indie companies like nightdive. It’s like they are utter morons these big companies.

And capcom is one of the worst all they do is remake older games and make the models look ugly (realistic derr). I don’t wanna buy no more capcom crap cept the old re’s.

How are they supposed to sell their least-effort-required soon-AI-"coded" new garbage if everyone's still playing decade old games?

Well that might be why literally millions of kids and youngsters just gather around overwatch, csgo, rust, gta and other uninteresting piles of garbage.
I'm not going to update. There is no point other than the studio trying to destroy mods. I suggest others do the same until there is a communication on what is in this patch.
I really don't think this update was made intentionally to break mods. Considering many Capcom games got this update whether there is much of a modding community or not, and the the thing all of these games had in common was that they use Capcom's MT Framework which was the component that was updated, it was likely some universal game engine update that they pushed to everything.

I dont think Megaman Zero/ZX, or RE1 Remake use MT Framework, so I dont think its an engine thing.

Apparently they do: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT_Framework?useskin=vector#Games_using_MT_Framework

The modding base has not been active. Regardless the reason for the update, its too risky to brick the game for some unknown update.
