What is the difference between this game and marvel vs capcom infinite?
And which game is better. I am planning to get it since both the games are on sale. Please suggest which one to buy.

in terms of game play, it's based on taste but I think they are about equal in terms of what they offer. infinite is a 2v2 game where team order isn't important and you will need to master playing both characters well. marvel 3 is a 3v3 game with assists which puts more emphasis on team synergy and team order, well built teams go very far.

in terms of how hard the games are, well it's a fighting game so there's always challenges, but infinite is a lot more lenient on inputs and there's less emphasis on being able to press buttons more accurately and faster than your opponent. Combos in general have a lot of funky hitstun so it's easier to combo off certain moves in infinite whereas mvc3 can often have much harder combo links.

for the roster, marvel 3 is 100% better imo, there's 50 characters whereas mvci only has 30 and you have to spend $30 more for 6 DLC characters. mvci does have characters like thanos, gamora, winter soldier and venom, there was a bit more emphasis on adding MCU characters this time around whereas marvel 3 was developed in 2010 before the MCU and has a much closer tie to marvel 2 where we have x-men.

music, marvel 3 music is awesome and only a handful of songs are meh. personally dislike all of infinites songs except for a small few.

art style, marvel 3 is more comic book looking whereas infinite is more realistic, I prefer marvel 3 style and it still looks good today imo.

Overall: Marvel 3 is better but Infinite is a bit easier to newcomers and much more lenient controls/execution and team building.

This is something I looked into as well. From what I understand, both online communities are almost dead, so there isn't much choice there. One notable point in favor (if you like the X-men) of this game is that it has the X-men characters. That is the main reason why I am considering getting it :)

I just picked this up last night. I had the vanilla version for my 360 years ago when it first came out. I'm not much of a fighting game fan, but I'm a huge Marvel and Capcom fan. I spent the past 3 hours infront of this game playing the Heroes vs. Heralds mode, and I must say it is very addicting. Give it a shot for the price. My computer can't run Infinite so I cannot comment on it. Love this game so far though.

Thank you, sir. If gameplay is not accounted, then I guess UMVC3 is the favorable one?

Yes, unless you really want X playable. He is in Infinite but not this one. But 3 makes up for it with more characters and better mechanics
