mvci is not really the answer to your problem either because that game isnt really designed for offline players anyway unless you really like the settings normal difficulty 99 second timer as you have to hit a seperate button to change those whenever you go back to the main menu (so if you play arcade on hard with infinite time and try to play arcade again it will default to normal 99 time). i dont know maybe that wont bother you that much but it gets me to keep coming back to this game even though i own infinite because i dont like timers and i never play fighting games on normal and it gets tedious to change those settings in infinite.
I speak of the mode where you collect cards/items and you fight enemies with a silver skin, like the clones in galactus's fight. I know the main attraction of fightings games is to play online with others but I never was a "pro" in UMvC3 and probably the people that still play the game are really good, since they just don't want to move to another game.
Well I think is sad the game doesn't have the 1P VS CPU mode because the gameplay is really fun, the roster of characters is good and the game looks cool. But re-play arcade mode is not fun and doing that in training mode is not the same, though is probably the closest thing.
