Unlockable characters?
I played this when it was first released on PS3 way back when and I recall all of the characters (I don't think there was any DLC yet) were already unlocked. One of my favorite things in Marvel VS Capcom 2 was saving up points to spend on new characters and skins. Is there anything like that in this version?

No. There were two unlockable characters in MvC3 and they were Jill and Shuma, which were DLC.

Then when UMvC3 launched there were 2 characters to unlock. Jill and Shuma. As DLC. Which you had to buy again.

If you already owned Jill and Shuma you didn't have to "re-buy" them. Hell, I don't think they were even available as DLC for UMvC3 itself, just MvC3 as it was a single buy for both versions.

Probably wont grab this then. I remember not having nearly as much fun as playing the first two, although Firebrand was awesome to see. Maybe when it goes on super sale or something. Thanks for the info guys.

I'm with you. As part of a rare breed of fighting game fan who doesn't enjoy online multiplayer (social anxiety), unlocks are my bread and butter.
