[HELP PLEASE, NEW ERROR] Launching Error
I bought the complete pack with this and TRINE 2: Complete Story or whatever it's called. I started the game the same day, I thought it was bnloody awesome, played it in 70 minutes, and then goes to bed, now, the next day, I wanted to play with my brother. I started the game from STEAM, and I got the window where you choose resolution and such. But then, when I click 'Launch' in that menu as I did yesterday, the menu disappears (as it should) but the game itself never starts.

Any suggestions?
(btw, I have looked at CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and it doesn't show TRINE at running processes)

Same problem here.
Atomic_Wolf Dec 25, 2013 @ 6:46pm
had the same problem but found the solution:

1 -. Verify integrity of game cache.
2 -. Then some physxloader.dll error, but I went to the game folder and look PhysX_9.09.0408_SystemSoftware install and now I can play

I hope it works for you.

srry for bad english XD

[Solved]

I followed @LoneWolf's Steps, but it didn't seem to work. It still said PhysXLoader.dll is missing on this computer. So I just searched for 'PhysXLoader.dll' and the first link was a download file, I scrolled down on the page til' I saw the White button that said "Download ZIP file" I clicked that button, I opened the zip file with WinRAR and put the .dll file in the game directory. Now it works flawless!

This is not working for me. I have not yet been able to get past the launcher. The error window flashes too fast for me to make out what is wrong. I tried the above fix but my computer screams at me that I have a newer version on my computer and will not let me continue. I tried compatability mode and that made no difference.

Sorry for the long delay.

Are you still having trouble with this problem? Here is something you could try.

Also if others have trouble with starting the game they can take a look at the following instructions too.

1. Try launching the game straight from its .exe
You can do this from the game's installation folder (\Steam\SteamApps\common\Trine.exe) and possibly launch it as administrator too. This might get the game to work or at least show an error message which would help to identify the problem.

2. Try to install PhysX drivers
There is a good chance the issue is that you're missing PhysX drivers or other issue with them. Trine requires PhysX which is a physics library made by NVIDIA, so any graphics card will be fine with this. You can download the newest drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_system_software.html

Please also try to uninstall the previous version you have installed before insalling the new one.

3. Compatibility mode
As you're using Windows 8 it might be worth trying to start the game in compatibility mode too (e.g. Win 7 / Vista / XP SP3). You can do this through the game's .exe file.

4. Delete options.txt
Try to delete your options.txt file as that might be corrupted. Options.txt for Trine is located in the game's installation folder at \Steam\SteamApps\common\Trine\config just try to open the game after deleting it.

5. Verify game cache
If it still doesn't work try verifying the game cache in Steam (right click on Trine in Steam, click on properties and choose local files-tab and the button to verify integrity of game cache should be there).

If it still doesn't work please check this folder in your game's installation folder
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Trine\logs
and please send the txt files to us by email to Support [at] Frozenbyte [dot] com if they have any logs in them. Please also tell your operating system and other system information in your email.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Let me know how it goes!
