Going mad over one XP bottle in Iron Forge.
So, there's an XP bottle I am missing in Iron Forge. Well, I know what you will say.

"Go look at a guide"
"It must be there, just look more carefully"

Well, here's the thing. I've watched countless guides. Videos of the level. Pictures of where the bottles are. Speaking of which, I guess there is a different count of them between the Original and Enchanted versions? Not sure if that matters but I am playing the Enchanted version.

I just can't seem to find it anywhere. I've seen videos where bottles end up hidden in the lava. Nothing there. Searched (and died while doing that) several times.

It's also of interest that I had the same problem in the GOG version of the game before I stopped playing that due to another bug.

So, yeah. Is there any bug in Iron Forge that I haven't heard of?

We haven't heard any reports that there would be a bug with this. So, I can really just suggest you to try again. :/

Yes, there are some differences between Enchanted Edition and the original version, with the experience locations as well. So, following a guide for the original Trine might not help much.

The experience bottles should reset at least in Enchanted Edition when you reload a level, so they shouldn't be hidden in the lava.

You were playing GOG version of the Enchanted Edition?

If the problem persist, you could try to verify the game cache for the game. You can do this by right-clicking on Trine in your Steam Library, then click on properties and choose the local files tab and the button to verify integrity of game cache should be there.

You could also try to change your save slot, load a level and then go back to your saveslot and check has anything changed. This should at least reset the level properly.

If there really seems to be a bug we'll look into this. So, let me know how it goes!

Everything is ok, now.

I did run the game cache verification just to be sure. A file was downloaded again so I am not sure if that did the trick but I ended up finding the bottle towards the end of the level.

For what it's worth, it was the second to last picture in this. Or, I think it was.

Is your experience missing from the Iron Forge too? Did you find it?

Unfortunately, I don't really have other suggestions than looking again. Do note that you only have to find all the experience in one version (original or Enchanted Edition) for the achievement.

Cheers!

There's one bottle hidden under a platform in the early part of the level (you need to break some wood), very easy to miss.

^ that was the only bottle which I couldn't find when I completed it over the weekend. It's hidden so well you can barely see the bottle, I think you can possibly hear it bouncing around.

I'll say one thing after completing the original Trine 100% on console pre-patch and then completing Trine EE over the weekend. They nerfed Sarek to the point where it's stupid easy. I had fond memories of "better than developers".....running up that tower like a headless chicken whilst Sarek dropped spike balls onto my head, every other skeleton jumping onto rotating platforms just as I was about to use them and the lava rose so quickly if you stopped you died. Then there was the classic moment when you reach the top for the first time and just as you're about to reach the top Sarek drops spike balls on your head. I knew the original was patched on console but never played it post patch as the save files don't carry across, the nerf was a real regression in terms of what made the original good imo.

Still a fantastic game but yeah. :ss13ok:
