Trine

Controllers simply don't work
I have two Nvidia Shield Controllers that I usually play my games with. I tried to play Trine via Geforce Now (Nvidia Shield), on the local PC (tried hooking up the controllers via USB and Bluetooth). I'm using Windows 10. All other controller-supported steam games I play, just Trine wouldn't let me :(

When the game starts, the game expects a mouse/keyboard input" "click to start". It doesn't automatically switch to controller input as other games typically do. When I use the mouse to click on the start button, the main menu shows up. I can use the left analog stick of my controller to go up and down. But no other button on the controller would work. I can't select anything.

When I go to the input configuration, it shows the controller names and the button mapping. When I use the mouse to start the multiplayer, I can assign each player to a controller. In the actual game, I can move to the left and right, but not turn around and only shoot arrows. The rest of the buttons don't work.

We unfortunately don’t have support for all controllers, but still sorry for the trouble. There also isn’t much other reports to get info from.

You could however try to use Steam’s settings to emulate the controllers, this might be the easiest with Big Picture Mode. Also using other programs is possible.

Other options are getting another emulator program to get the controllers recognised as Xbox 360 controllers, as Trine does support those, or just try binding the buttons from the in-game Settings.

I hope this helps, or someone has more tips for you! We're also keeping an eye on this thread in case you have questions. If you need more help also remember to mention your operating system. Cheers!

Hmmmm I disagree. My xbox 360 controller works just fine. It didn't years ago prior to the enchanted edition but works fine now. This game is so much better with a controller.

Same here, there is no way I can make my controller work, not even with x360ce =\

Unfortunately official support is only for Xbox controllers. Have you tried using the Steam's controller configuration option in big picture mode? That has worked for some people.

How could you finally do that?

With the controller on open Steam in the Big Picture Mode, click on the Configurations Gear on top right side. Click on Controller Settings. Mark the 1, 3 and 5 boxes: 1 Guide Button Focuses Steam, 3 XBOX Configuration Support, 5 Generic Gamepad configuration Support.

I use a GameSir generic controller that was designed copying the xBox controller, so for me those chekiing 3 boxes made it work fine. =]
